Community Education Initiatives Encourage Prevention and Early Detection for Improved Patient Outcomes

Education, prevention and early detection are the first steps to maintaining health especially when cancer is the diagnosis. Education is provided by all of our care providers as well as our community health coordinators, registered dietitians and breast health navigators. In an effort to prevent and detect cancer in its earliest, most treatable phases, we follow the American Cancer Society’s recommendations for cancer prevention methods.  Providence offers a variety of preventive screenings, including breast exams, digital and traditional mammography, abnormal pap smears and prostate cancer screenings.
